Overpass Biography Like the veterans they are -- Overpass is 3/4 of SST band Slovenly -- Tom Watson and co. constructed, with Manhattan (Beach), an album of impeccable sonic detail - a mature rock-wallop as precise as a machete through Country Crock. What's more, the album was produced by legendary Texan psych hoodoo-master Mayo Thompson, majordomo of the Red Krayola. His is a subtle but sure touch, since with a brain trust as developed as Overpass, a "producer" merely needs to harness, not hold hands.
